The name “beagle” comes from the Old English word “bēowulf”, which means “bear-man”. The term was used to refer to a man who hunted bears with a bow and arrow.

The first known reference of the term being applied to dogs dates back to 1812. Today, it refers to any dog that hunts or scavenges for food.

Sturdy Beagles are much more affectionate than pit bulls, which are not particularly affectionate at all. Sturdy beagles have an easy-going nature and do very well with children.

They are sweet and playful. Pit bulls are more energetic and may not always get along with children since they can be too rambunctious for smaller kids. Pit bulls also need plenty of exercise.

Sturdy Beagles are generally good with other pets. Pit bulls can have aggressive streaks and may be more likely to fight with other animals, especially dogs of the same gender.

Pit bulls also have a reputation for being highly protective of their owners and may act aggressively towards strangers, including friends and family.

Both sturdy beagles and pit bulls do well in an apartment setting. They are fairly quiet and do not typically bark excessively.
