Blue Bay Shepherds are considered as one of the most popular dog breeds in the world. They have been bred for centuries to hunt game, protect their families from predators and provide companionship to humans. These dogs were originally used as guard dogs, but now they are widely recognized for their hunting abilities. Some experts believe that these dogs may even be better than some professional hunters because they don’t need any special training or equipment to become good at hunting.
The Blue Bay Shepherd breed originated in Canada and was first introduced into the United States in 1884. Since then, it has spread all over the world. There are several different types of blue bay shepherds: Siberian blue bay shepherds, Newfoundland blue bay shepherds, Labrador retrievers and golden retrievers.
Each type has its own characteristics such as size, coat coloration and temperament.
Siberian Blue Bay Shepherds are known for being very loyal and affectionate towards their owners. They are usually small, weighing between 15 and 20 pounds (7 to 10 kilograms). Their coats tend to be a light grayish brown with black markings.
Siberians do not shed much which makes them ideal for hunting. However, they can get irritated easily if left alone too long or if they feel threatened. They will bark when startled and may bite if provoked.
Newfoundland Blue Bay Shepherds were bred for working alongside fishermen in icy water. They are known for their large size and unique coloring. They are a solid black or black with white markings all over their bodies.
Newfoundlands can weigh up to 150 pounds (70 kilograms) and are extremely hearty. Despite their large size, they have a gentle temperament. They are affectionate towards children, strangers and other animals.
Labrador Retrievers are easily identified by their broad heads, large eyes and a short, solid body. These dogs have an excellent sense of smell and were bred to be used in hunting. They have short hair which means they shed very little.
However, they need a lot of exercise and can’t live on a sedentary owner.
Golden Retrievers have an easy going nature and a friendly temperament that makes them popular among families. They are loyal and gentle towards children. These dogs are determined when it comes to making friends and they will often greet strangers by jumping up to say hello.
They are also easy to train provided that you establish yourself as the alpha. These dogs have a medium length coat which is usually blond, though some of them have darker shades of yellow. They require professional grooming every couple of months to prevent their fur from getting matted.
Blue bay shepherds have been bred for centuries to assist humans and they are excellent work dogs. In addition to their remarkable abilities as hunters, they can also act as guides for the blind, detect drugs and search for explosives. Their friendly nature makes them ideal pets for families with children.
They love to please their owners and will eagerly participate in various activities such as jogging, hiking and swimming.
However, these dogs require a considerable amount of exercise so they aren’t suited to live in an apartment. They also need to be well trained before they reach adulthood because they can be willful if they think that you won’t enforce rules. Due to their high intelligence, these dogs can become bored easily so it is important to keep them challenged.
