The American Bulldog breed originated from the English bull dog, which was bred to fight. However, the American bulldogs are not aggressive dogs; they have been selectively bred to make them good family pets. They do well in most environments and are very easy to train because their intelligence makes it easier for them to learn commands. There are two types of american bulldogs: the standard and the show type.

Standard American Bulldogs are larger than their show counterparts and tend to weigh between 25–30 pounds while the show variety range from 20–35 pounds.

American Bulldog Pitbulls are a crossbreed of the American Staffordshire Terrier (a small terrier) and the English bulldog. They were originally developed as guard dogs but have become popular among pet owners due to their friendly nature and ability to live indoors. They are known for being playful and affectionate, making them great companions for children.

There are several different colors of American Bulldog Pitbulls. Some are black and tan while others come in red, white or gray. Most have a smooth coat that ranges from light brown to dark chocolate. Their eyes may vary in color too; some have blue eyes while others have green or hazel ones.

Some have curly tails whereas others don’t. Dogs of this breed range from 30 to 50 pounds and 20 to 25 inches in height.

Even though the American Bulldog Pitbull is a crossbreed, there are no health issues specific to it. However, both its parent breeds suffer from a few ailments. The American bulldog is susceptible to cataracts, hip dysplasia and skin allergies. The Staffordshier Terrier is at risk of heart disorders and eye problems.

You can reduce the risk of your dog getting sick by getting it vaccinated and examining it regularly for symptoms of any disorder.

Both the American Bulldog and the American Staffordshire Terrier were bred to be fighters so they tend to have a lot of energy. They need to vent that out somehow or they’ll start displaying undesirable behavior such as being territorial or aggressive. Make sure you give them plenty of exercise or else they’ll get bored and act out. Take them jogging, to the park or even play games with them.

They also need mental stimulation or they’ll get bored too. You can achieve this by teaching them new tricks or encouraging them to solve little puzzles.

The American bulldog enjoys being around people and does well living in a house with other pets. It’s important that you socialize it when it’s a puppy because if you don’t it might become suspicious of people and be difficult to handle. By nature, it’s not an aggressive dog and will rarely act aggressively unless it feels threatened. Due to its large size, it’s not an appropriate pet for most apartments or other residential areas.

It needs a large yard where it can play and exercise. It makes a good guard dog but it’s not likely to attack an intruder unless it feels threatened.

Due to the American bulldog’s large size, it requires a lot of food to sustain itself. You’ll need to buy it a large bag of good quality dog food every few weeks. Wash down its food with lots of water. This breed tends to drool.

Though the American bulldog has a reputation for being dangerous, it’s really just a big softie. It gets along well with children and even cats if it’s raised with them. It’s friendly with strangers but does have a protective streak in it and will defend its family if necessary.

If you don’t have room for a large dog in your house, or if you live in an apartment, or if you don’t have the time to spend exercising it or playing with it, or if you can’t stand the thought of anything shedding all over the place, then do not get a American Bulldog Pitbull.
