How To Stop A Dog Jumping Up
A dog’s natural instinct is to run away from danger. But sometimes dogs are so excited or scared that they will jump up onto their owners without warning. Dogs have been known to jump up on strangers even though there is no reason for them to do so.
If your dog is jumping up on you, it could be because he/she is nervous or afraid. You might want to try these tips to calm him down:
1) Put Your Hands Around His Neck And Hold Him Close To You
2) Talk Quietly With Your Voice (Not Growl Or Scream!)
3) Give The Dog Time To Get Over It Before Attempting To Take Control Of The Situation Again!
4) If You Are Able, Try To Keep The Distance Between Yourself And Your Dog
5) Don’t Force The Issue – Just Let Them Know That They Shouldn’t Do It Again!
If you still feel like your dog is jumping up on you, then you may need to use force to get control over the situation again. Remember that if your dog doesn’t listen to you now, he won’t ever listen to you later.
If you want to know how to stop a dog from jumping up, just follow the tips above and before you know it, your dog will be back under your command!
